RISOUL 1850: THE SNOW FRONT IS GETTING A MAKEOVER FOR WINTER 2025-2026
Major redevelopment and modernization work is underway on the snow front. Don't worry, everything will be ready to welcome you this December!
After the major project for the new Homme de Pierre chairlift last year, Risoul is keeping up the momentum and tackling another key area of the resort: the Risoul 1850 snow front!
If you've been to the resort this autumn, you couldn't have missed it. The snow front is currently undergoing major construction. As the municipality has confirmed to us, it is a large-scale redevelopment. The goal? A complete overhaul to modernize the area, make it more functional, and more welcoming for everyone.
What's on the agenda for this work?
It's not just a quick coat of paint! This work, which is partly a result of the bad weather in December 2023, consists of:
- The complete overhaul of the rainwater systems (gutters, drainage...).
- The creation of a sanitation network to serve new public toilets.
- The construction of a new building for the ESF (French Ski School).
- The remodeling of part of the snow front and the reworking of the fire department access route.
In short, it's a true "reset" to improve our starting point for the slopes!

Our manager, Jérôme from Locaski, went to the site in early October (October 7, 2025, to be precise!) to bring back some snapshots for you. As you can see, the construction machinery is hard at work and the earthworks are impressive!
We can also see that season preparations are underway, with the chairs from the Pré du Bois chairlift waiting patiently to be reinstalled for winter.
Don't panic, everything will be ready on time!
This is the most important news: the work is scheduled to finish at the end of November! The information was officially communicated by the municipality (you can consult the notice by clicking here).
The timing will therefore be perfect for the pre-opening of the resort on the weekend of December 6 and 7, 2025 (snow permitting), and for the official continuous opening from Saturday, December 13, 2025.
The entire Locaski Risoul team is looking forward to seeing you and discovering this brand new snow front with you, which promises to be more practical and modern. We are actively preparing the shop to welcome you in the best possible conditions!
